Väärtuste küsimus jätkusuutlikkuse aspektist on juhtimisteooriatesse ja juhtimise valdkonda üldisemalt sisenenud juba vähemalt kümme aastat. Kirjandust selle kohta leidub palju ning siinviidatu võib olla kasulik neile, kes teevad esimest tutvust väärtuspõhise või vastutustundliku juhtimise valdkonnaga. Tegemist on ülevaateartikliga, mis pakub ka vastutustundliku juhtimise kontseptuaalse mudeli.
Responsible leadership (RL) is an evolving concept comes under the last generation of leadership theories and in the centre of investigations in value-based leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (Antunes & Franco, 2016; Pless, 2007; Pruzan, 2008). It is an ethical, social, relational phenomenon, which occurs while involving different social processes. […] The present concept of leadership in a business entity is concentrated on the exchange between leaders and subordinates. The followers are taken as subordinates in the present organizational setup. In an organization where RL is mattered, the followers mean stakeholders within and external to the entity.
Vastutustundliku juhtimise üldine tuum:
RL addresses today’s core issues of environmental disasters and health hazards that are a direct outcome of not placing adequate emphasis on societal concerns and overlooking measures that would deplete environmental peace and order; such action that would increase business scandals, natural calamities, environmental crisis and social peace and order.
Vastutustundliku juhtimise kontseptsioon:
The concept of RL is rooted in high ethical values. Responsible leaders see organizational sustainability as something beyond legal obligations. It takes decisions firm steps in fulfilling a social need moving for economically viable and environmentally sound products and services towards sustainable development. Good leaders who are responsible for the organization as well as to the society and environment can only work with this approach.
Responsible leaders need ‘relational intelligence (RI)’ for interacting respectfully and effectively with stakeholders of varying interests and cultural settings within and outside the entity, and to build and develop an effective and trustful lasting relationship with them is a great task that a leader should have to make it effective. RI is a pattern of both sensitive aptitude (Salovey & Mayer, 1990) and ‘ethical intelligence’ (Pless & Maak, 2005).
